He is the friend of all times. Painter, sculptor, advertiser, builder, once magician of the nights in Marseille... Georges Ricaud was born in Auvergne in 1941, son of a French man from Lille and a Belgian mother. He accesses to the Ecole des Beaux Arts of Roubaix in 1955, then to the one of Tourcoing, by Lille, in 1956-57, before completing his studies in the Académie Royale des Beaux Arts in Brussels, in 1958, winning a first prize of drawing. He then chooses to settle in Marseille in 1965 after having fallen in love for this city he sees for the first time in 1960, as he is sent to the army for the war in Algeria. He is the painter of women, his favourite subject. Nowadays, he is a carefully-heard inspiring man, for he is a remarkable cook as well...
A wonderful work of his, dedicated to the Poilus, can be admired on the esplanade of the St-Laurent Church.
